Great turnout for annual awards

The First and Reserve teams dished out their annual awards at a well-supported Presentation Evening in the Jewson Bar on Friday.

In the absence of Kevin Lawrence due to family illness, Mark Vercesi read out a heart-felt tribute from the manager to his players, and dispensed the first team honours. Alfie Turner was the big winner scooping both the Manager’s and Supporters’ awards, whilst young defender Cameron McCabe bagged the Players’ Player of the Year accolade and Kizzy Snowden the top scorer award – quite an achievement as he spent much of the season playing with the Reserves and at Godolphin Atlantic.

Darren Dayus praised his Reserve Team’s fine achievement in finishing fourth in Trelawny Division One, and passed his Manager’s award to Sam Payne, a young player who made his first start for the first team on the final day of the season at Wadebridge. Tyler Smith was top scorer whilst the Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Year Awards went to Steve Miller and Tyler Dayus respectively.

Special tribute was also paid to Reserves player Matty Robinson who has just returned from playing, and scoring, for England in the ICPCF World Cup, Sue Morse for all her work with the second team, John Mead for the hours he devotes to the ground and Jeremy Kewn for his outstanding catering services.
