Penzance will play a third consecutive home game when Godolphin Atlantic visit Penlee Park this afternoon (3pm kick-off). After 1-3 defeats against Mullion ten days ago and St Dennis last Saturday, they will be eager to pick up their first points of the season.
It was in fact against “the G” that the Magpies last tasted victory—a thrilling 4-3 success up in Newquay last Autumn. Kizzy Snowden side-footed home an excellent winner in a match that had seen the visitors trail twice. For the return in the New Year, Adam Paterson had taken over the managerial reins and a much improved “G” gained revenge with a single Guy Bolton strike. There has been another change in the Godolphin Way dug-out this summer enforced by work commitments taking Paterson to London. Harry Pope, the former Carharrack and Penryn boss, has taken charge, and got off to an impressive start with two wins and eleven goals from his first three matches in charge.
Snowden, who actually finished last season as a Godolphin player, returns to the Penzance squad to face his old team along with Jordan Daniell. Tyler Tonkin and Kevin Lawrence are, however, out injured whilst Robertas Samnauskas is working. The full Penzance squad is therefore: Mikey Flores, Will Trenoweth, Archie Reynolds, Ryan Andrew, Tyler Dayus, Daniell, Silas Sullivan, Max Everard, Alfie Turner, Joe Gordon, Snowden, Haidar Fadli, Rocco Hill, Obinna Abaku and Darryl Richards.
For Godolphin, Pope selects from: Adam Robathan, Marshall Chapman, Callum Bertrand, Ollie Paterson, Matt Sanders, Tiernan Bertand, Jay Davie, Eli Evans, Josh Margetts, Will Garner, Matt Walker, Ben Colquohoun, Thomas Harvey, Jake Schofield, Oscar Schofield, Leland Bertrand.
