WEEKLY YOUTH ROUND-UP

The horrendous weather over the weekend resulted in the postponement of the Cornwall FA’s Rathbone Trophy tie that should have seen the Under-18s take on Saltash United at Penlee Park on Sunday afternoon. However, three youth matches did go ahead at Newlyn Coombe that day.

The Under-8 Lions and the Under-9 Tigers hosted Illogan RBL and St Agnes respectively. Noah was Player of the Match for the Lions, and Seb for the Tigers. The Under-14s had a walkover against Goonhavern and thus maintained their 100% record for the season in League One West. They stay top on goal difference. Finally, the Under-15s enjoyed a resounding 11-2 victory at home to Wendron United. Marley blasted eight goals with the Player of the Match award going to Isaak.

This Sunday the Under-8 Lions host Wendron United whilst the Under-10 Jaguars travel to Goonhavern. The Under-10 Lynxes entertain East Wheal Rose. Also at Newlyn Coombe, the Under-11 Pumas take on Illogan RBL. The Under-14s travel to Wendron United whilst the Under-16 Titans are also on the road – to take on Newquay in the Cornwall FA’s Luke Cup. That tie will take place at Tretherras School at 11am.

Finally, the Under-18s will make a second attempt to get the Rathbone Trophy tie against Saltash United played, That Second Round tie will be played at Penlee Park with a 2pm kick-off.
