Normal service resumed...
Yesterday a depleted Reserves made the trip to a very boggy Chacewater as we looked to get our season back on track following three straight defeats (writes joint Penzance Reserves Manager, Daz Smith).
With new signing Ollie Rawlins making his debut at full back and player-kitman Connor starting on the wing , we looked to start quickly however Chacewater grabbed the first goal of the game as we failed to clear our lines from a corner, conceding in the first minute of the game.
1-0
Fortunately our lads kept their heads and we quickly levelled thanks to Matt Robinson. A pre match bet between Lewis and Matt saw Lewis offer Matt £50 if he could score today and Matt obliged...
Matt's Beckham-esque cross come shot looped towards the back post lobbing the keeper and dropped in levelling the game much to the relief of the Reserves and the travelling supporters.
1-1
Minutes later a clever bit of play from Tyler and Ollie saw Tyler slide Kizzy through. Kizzy managed to withstand the defenders challenge and round the keeper and tap home from close range grabbing us a deserved lead.
1-2
With several more good chances and the woodwork coming to the home sides rescue, we went in at halftime 2-1 up.

1-2
With our halftime team talk of encouragement and belief to the lads, we knew the next goal would be crucial.
So with us dominating the opening minutes of the half a quick throw in from Conor saw Sam Payne control the ball before smashing home a left footed volley, beating the keeper at his near post.
1-3
However Chacewater weren't quite done as a soft foul on the edge of our box gave their midfielder the opportunity to curl his effort into the top corner pulling a goal back against the run of play.
2-3
But up stepped the energetic Sam Payne to grab his second of the game whilst sealing a win and all three points for the Reserves.
After a nice spell of patient possession in the opposition's half, Sam beat two players before firing at goal from 18 yards. Despite the keepers best efforts Sam's shot was too hot to handle and the ball rolled over the line, giving us our two goal cushion and the all important win we deserved.
2-4
And full time.
With several top performers in the squad yesterday, including Steve, Matt, Connor, Tyler and Kizzy, a double man of the match award this week goes to Ollie and Sam.
Considering the last time Ollie played was 4 years ago at youth level, Ollie didn't look out of place and really put a shift in at full back.
Whilst Sam also put a top performance in, especially in the second half as he grabbed the game by the scruff whilst bagging a brace and ensuring all three points returned to Penlee Park.
But as always well done all.
Finally many thanks to the travelling supporters who made the journey yesterday, we hope you enjoyed the game.
