Penzance AFC are delighted to announce that our Reserves Team player Matt Robinson, has been selected to represent England in the forthcoming IFCPF World Cup.
Matt who has mild cerebral palsy is the only player to date, to represent the club under our Youth and Disability sections, as well as represent our 1st and Reserve Team squads.
As well as playing for the club, Matt also had a spell as a Youth Team coach where in one season, his under 9's team won three of the main county youth tournaments. His success saw him win the Cornwall Sports Partnership Young Coach of the Year that year.
With already 6 England caps under his belt, the England CP International will be looking to add to his tally when the World Cup tournament kicks off in Salou, Barcelona on the 27th April.
England have been drawn in Group A alongside Canada, Venezuela and the Netherlands.
Everyone at Penzance AFC wish Matt and his England teammates the very best of luck, and hope to see him back at Penlee Park with some silverware on his return.
