After three consecutive away games, Penzance are back home for the first time in nearly a month when league leaders St Blazey visit tonight (7.30pm kick-off).
It will be a second meeting between the two this season. On a scorching hot first day of the campaign, Silas Sullivan’s second-half goal was not quite enough to prevent the Magpies slipping to a 1-3 defeat despite a creditworthy performance against a side widely tipped for honours.
The main team news from the home camp is the availability of club legend Mark Vercesi for the first time this season. He joins new signing Josh Whitburn and Haidar Fadli, promoted from the Reserves, in a squad of: Will Trenoweth, Archie Reynolds, Tyler Tonkin (captain), Sullivan, Mark Vercesi, Ryan Andrew, Kevin Lawrence, Max Everard, Kam Collins, Jordan Daniell, Darryl Richards, Jacob Trudgeon, Haidar Fadli, Rolandos Samnauskas, Robertas Samnauskas and Josh Whitburn.
St Blazey, after suffering surprise defeats to Wadebridge and Dobwalls, returned to the top of the pile by winning 3-0 at Godolphin Atlantic on Saturday. Their managers, Brad Richardson and Andrew Moon, select from: Brodie Cole, Will Tinsley, Alfie Wotton, Rio Ward, Kai Foster, Lewis Vooght, Lewis Russell, Martin Giles, River Allen, Olly Brokenshire (captain), Jed Smale, Gino Garside, Jack Alexander, Liam Eddy, Luke Cloke, Sam Buckley and Callum McGhee.
Admission is just £5 (£3 for concessions) and drinks and refreshments will be available from both the bar (from 6pm) and the tea hut. A full printed matchday programme will be on sale for £1.50.
See you down there!
