LEAGUE LEADERS IN TOWN

Penzance play their penultimate home match of the season, the last on a Saturday, when table-tabling Wendron United visit Penlee Park this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

The Magpies have pushed “the Dron” all the way twice in recent months - a 1-2 league reverse at Underlane in October followed by a Cornwall Senior Cup quarter-final that was only decided in extra-time. “I think after two evenly matched games already this season, Wendron will come here expecting a tough match,” says joint manager John McCallum. “They will be hungry for the points in their quest for league honours, so we will have to be hungrier!”.

On a four game unbeaten run, Penzance are missing regular left-back Cam McCabe and midfielder Jordan Daniell. However, former player-manager Frazer Cadman returns for the first time this season to a squad that also includes: Will Trenoweth, Mikey Flores, Archie Reynolds, Liam Andrew, Mark Vercesi, Kam Collins, Kevin Lawrence, Tyler Tonkin (captain), Silas Sullivan, Darryl Richards, Jacob Trudgeon, Rolandos Samnauskas, Max Everard and Alfie Hicks.

Wendron, who are six points clear of Wadebridge Town at the top but could be overhauled if third-placed St Blazey win games in hand, select from: Ethan Fearn, Joe Souch, Joe Chapman, Reece Carroll, Tyler Buckley, Russell May, Scott Palmer (captain), Cam Quirke, Sam Young, Lucas Potts, Taylor Packenas, Jack Stocker, Jacob Cleverley, Kian Thomas, Josh Wood and Ryan Reeve.

Admission is just £5 (£3 for concessions) and drinks and refreshments, including hot pasties, will be available from the Jewson Bar (open around 12.30pm) and tea hut.

A full printed matchday programme will be on sale in the bar from lunchtime, and at the gate and tea hut, for £1.50.
