For the sixth consecutive round over three seasons, Penzance have been drawn at home in the Ward Williams Cornwall Senior Cup. And, having already knocked out Wadebridge Town and Mullion, they will again face opposition from their own division in the Quarter-Finals, the draw for which was made at County HQ in Bodmin on Thursday lunchtime.

This time it could not be any tougher – Kitchen Kit South West Peninsula West Division leaders and title favourites Liskeard Athletic will visit for the last eight tie which will be played on Tuesday 9th January. It will be a second meeting between the teams this season, the Magpies having been narrowly defeated in a league fixture at Lux Park last month, Mike Smith’s early strike separating the sides on the day.

“It’ll be a special night for the club,” thinks Penzance manager Ashley Waters. “Liskeard will be favourites and rightly so - they are a fantastic team with a quality manager. We’ll be the underdogs but never write this Penzance side off!. We'll be up for it, in front of a packed Penlee with our supporters behind us.”

In the other ties, holders Helston Athletic must travel to St Austell whilst Falmouth Town host Toolstation Western League local rivals St Blazey. Peninsula League representation in the semi-finals is guaranteed with Newquay hosting Bodmin Town..
