Having been starved of football for nearly five weeks, the Penzance football public will be treated to a veritable bonanza in the first week of November.
Three days after Penlee Park is re-opened to welcome Bodmin Town in a league fixture, the Magpies will entertain Mullion in the Ward Williams Cornwall Senior Cup, the reward for an impressive victory over Wadebridge Town in the First Round. The tie, to be staged on Tuesday 7th November, will be Mullion’s second visit of the campaign having been beaten 4-1 back in August in the league.
By coincidence, Penzance Reserves had already been drawn against their Mullion counterparts in the Second Round of the Bond Timber Cornwall Junior Cup. That tie should have been contested on Saturday October 21st. Due to the grandstand re-roofing, and with the co-operation of Mullion and the CCFA, it has been rearranged for Wednesday 8th November. So the Seagulls will be will be flying across Mounts Bay twice in 24 hours for what should be a pair of cracking cup ties.
