Penzance Reserves lost their final pre-season friendly of the summer, beaten by the odd goal in five in an entertaining match at Borlaise Park.
The Magpies were rocked in the opening moments when Kalon Mayes blasted Pendeen into the lead with a superb free-kick. They hit back strongly though, and Sam Payne, Kizzie Snowden, Kam Collins and Harvey Richings all went close. The breakthrough came in the 40th minutes. Collins picked out Snowden with an excellent long ball, and the striker deftly lobbed home.
Two quick goals just before the turnaround proved decisive for Rovers, however. Running on to a fine Mayes pass, Bradley Andiego fired them back in front, then an unfortunate own-goal doubled the damage. Penzance dominated the second half but could muster just one goal, albeit it fine one. At the end of an eye-catching move, Snowden centred to Joe Gordon to net against his former club.
Back of the net! Young Magpie, Joe Gordon finishes a great ball from Kizzy Snowden.
