After being held by their St Piran League visitors in a tight first half Penzance, propelled by a Rolandos Samnauskas hat-trick, put Illogan to the sword after the interval to run out clear winners in this Friday night friendly.
Visiting keeper Barrie Wyatt saved well from Archie Reynolds among others, and Silas Sullivan hit the woodwork, as the Magpies dominated the opening exchanges. But they fell behind in the 26th minute when Jordan Knuckey scored with a quite exquisite, acrobatic volley.
Penzance levelled seconds before the break when Charlie Young emphatically slammed home a Lewis Caspall centre, and never looked back once Tyler Tonkin fired them ahead eleven minutes into the second half.Â

Jude Tripconey skipped around Wyatt to thread in the third from a tight angle. Then Darryl Richards had a penalty (awarded for a Tom Hogarth foul on Charlie Willis) saved, but quickly made amends, picking out Samnauskas with a corner the Lithuanian striker powerfully headed home.
With a cool one-on-one finish, Willis notched the fifth before playing an important part in the goal of the game, seven minutes from time. He concluded a neatly worked free-kick routine by  sliding a short pass to Samnauskas who ripped a shot into the roof of the Illogan net. The striker bagged his third just before the close, running on to a deflected long cross-field pass by Reynolds, to round off the scoring.
