Penzance’s youth teams returned to action over the weekend after the Christmas break. The Under-9 Lynxes played away to Truro on Saturday morning, the Under-9 Jaguars took on East Wheal Rose whilst the Under-10 Pumas played Hayle.
The Under-11 Cosmos recorded their first win of the season, defeating Culdrose. But the Under-13 Vulcans suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of St Agnes at Mount Ambrose.
Pride of place for weekend goes to the Under-13 Aliens who travelled to St Columb Minor to take on Newquay in the County Cup. With Kirby scoring twice, they held the hosts to a 2-2 draw. Sammy saved all Newquay’s penalties with Kirby, Teddy and Mason netting for the Aliens who won the shoot-out 3-0 on a freezing afternoon.
